🍽️ Fried Tomato Slices

Ingredients
- 1 Oxheart tomato (or a beefsteak tomato)
- 0.5 untreated lemon
- 1 handful chives
- 120 g cream cheese
- salt
- pepper
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- basil (leaves and flowers for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomato thoroughly.
- 2. Cut out the hard stem area from the tomato.
- 3. Slice the tomato into four pieces, each about 1 centimeter thick.
- 4. Rinse the lemon under hot water.
- 5. Dry the lemon with a cloth.
- 6. Grate the lemon peel finely.
- 7. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
- 8. Rinse the chives briefly under running water.
- 9. Cut the chives into very fine rings.
- 10. Mix the cream cheese with the lemon juice.
- 11. Fold the fine chive rings into the cream cheese mixture.
- 12. Season the cream cheese mixture with salt and pepper.
- 13. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
- 14. Fry the tomato slices from the first side for about 1 minute.
- 15. Fry the tomato slices from the second side for another 1 minute.
- 16. Remove the tomato slices from the pan.
- 17. Let the tomato slices cool down briefly.
- 18. Distribute the tomato slices onto four small plates.
- 19. Lightly salt the tomato slices.
- 20. Lightly pepper the tomato slices.
- 21. Take small portions of the cream cheese mixture with two small spoons.
- 22. Place two portions of cream cheese on each tomato slice.
- 23. Sprinkle some lemon zest over the cream cheese portions.
- 24. Drizzle the remaining oil over the arranged tomatoes.
- 25. Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the arranged tomatoes.
- 26. Garnish the dishes with fresh basil leaves.
- 27. Garnish the dishes with edible flowers.
- 28. Serve the fried tomato slices.
