🍽️ Crispy Turkey Strips on Fresh Melon Salad

Ingredients
- 250 g turkey breast fillet
- salt
- pepper
- 6 g ginger (1 piece)
- 1 garlic clove
- 3 tsp olive oil
- 500 g large bell peppers (1 red, 1 green; 2 large bell peppers)
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 shallot
- 0.5 melon (e.g. cantaloupe)
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 pinch sugar
- 0.5 bunch basil
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the turkey breast fillet under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the turkey breast into thin strips.
- 4. Place the meat strips into a bowl.
- 5. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 6. Peel the ginger and the garlic.
- 7. Finely chop the ginger and the garlic.
- 8. Take one teaspoon of oil.
- 9. Mix the oil with the chopped ginger and garlic.
- 10. Stir the spice mixture into the turkey strips.
- 11. Let the marinated meat strips rest covered for about 15 minutes.
- 12. Halve the bell peppers lengthwise.
- 13. Remove the seeds and white pith from the bell peppers.
- 14. Wash the cored bell peppers.
- 15. Cut the bell peppers into wide strips.
- 16. Take a non-stick frying pan.
- 17. Add five tablespoons of water to the pan.
- 18. Add a pinch of salt to the water.
- 19. Bring the water in the pan to a boil.
- 20. Add the pepper strips to the boiling water.
- 21. Steam the peppers covered for about two to three minutes.
- 22. Remove the pepper strips from the pan.
- 23. Place the peppers into a small bowl.
- 24. Let the pepper strips cool down.
- 25. Wash the tomatoes.
- 26. Cut out the stem areas of the tomatoes in a wedge shape.
- 27. Slice the tomatoes.
- 28. Peel the shallot.
- 29. Cut the shallot into thin rings.
- 30. Core the melon.
- 31. Cut the flesh away from the melon rind.
- 32. Dice the melon flesh.
- 33. Take a salad bowl.
- 34. Add vinegar to the salad bowl.
- 35. Add salt to the salad bowl.
- 36. Add pepper to the salad bowl.
- 37. Add sugar to the salad bowl.
- 38. Take the remaining oil.
- 39. Add the remaining oil to the salad bowl.
- 40. Whisk the ingredients in the bowl with a whisk to form a sauce.
- 41. Rinse the basil.
- 42. Shake the basil dry.
- 43. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 44. Cut the basil leaves into thin strips.
- 45. Add the tomato slices to the salad bowl with the sauce.
- 46. Add the shallot rings to the salad bowl.
- 47. Add the melon cubes to the salad bowl.
- 48. Add the cooled pepper strips to the salad bowl.
- 49. Add the basil strips to the salad bowl.
- 50. Gently fold all ingredients into the sauce.
- 51. Wipe the pan dry.
- 52. Reheat the pan.
- 53. Place the marinated turkey strips into the hot pan.
- 54. Fry the turkey strips until crispy and brown over medium heat.
- 55. Turn the meat strips regularly while frying.
- 56. Season the fried turkey strips finally with salt and pepper.
- 57. Arrange the hot turkey strips on the prepared salad.
