  1. 1. Peel the garlic and chop it very finely.
  2. 2. Loosely beat the egg in a small bowl with a fork.
  3. 3. Line a baking tray with cling film.
  4. 4. Bring 500 milliliters of water with a pinch of salt and one tablespoon of butter to a boil in a pot.
  5. 5. Stir in the polenta and cook it according to the instructions on the package.
  6. 6. Mix the finished polenta mixture in a bowl with the prepared egg and the chopped garlic.
  7. 7. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking tray and smooth it out with a spoon.
  8. 8. Let the polenta cool down completely.
  9. 9. Brush the surface of the cooled polenta thinly with butter.
  10. 10. Turn the polenta out onto a clean work surface and remove the foil.
  11. 11. Cut out round circles from the polenta mixture.
  12. 12. Fry the patties in hot oil until golden yellow.
  13. 13. Top the finished patties with slices of Scamorza cheese.
  14. 14. Serve the patties garnished with tomato slices, fresh sage leaves, chili powder, and black pepper.
