🍽️ Crispy Polenta Patties with Scamorza

Ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 egg
- salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 200 g polenta
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
- dried tomatoes
- 200 g smoked mozzarella (in thin slices)
- sage (for garnishing)
- chili powder
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic and chop it very finely.
- 2. Loosely beat the egg in a small bowl with a fork.
- 3. Line a baking tray with cling film.
- 4. Bring 500 milliliters of water with a pinch of salt and one tablespoon of butter to a boil in a pot.
- 5. Stir in the polenta and cook it according to the instructions on the package.
- 6. Mix the finished polenta mixture in a bowl with the prepared egg and the chopped garlic.
- 7. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking tray and smooth it out with a spoon.
- 8. Let the polenta cool down completely.
- 9. Brush the surface of the cooled polenta thinly with butter.
- 10. Turn the polenta out onto a clean work surface and remove the foil.
- 11. Cut out round circles from the polenta mixture.
- 12. Fry the patties in hot oil until golden yellow.
- 13. Top the finished patties with slices of Scamorza cheese.
- 14. Serve the patties garnished with tomato slices, fresh sage leaves, chili powder, and black pepper.
