  1. 1. Wash the cabbage thoroughly.
  2. 2. Remove the hard core from the center.
  3. 3. Cut the leafy vegetable into thin strips.
  4. 4. Bring water to a boil and add some salt.
  5. 5. Cook the cabbage strips for 4 to 5 minutes in the boiling water (this is called blanching).
  6. 6. Drain the water.
  7. 7. Rinse the cabbage immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  8. 8. Let the cabbage drain well.
  9. 9. Peel the onion and remove the outer layers.
  10. 10. Finely chop the onion.
  11. 11. Peel the potatoes.
  12. 12. Wash the peeled potatoes.
  13. 13. Slice the potatoes into thin slices or grate them finely.
  14. 14. Heat the oil in a large pan.
  15. 15. Fry the potatoes in the pan for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  16. 16. Turn the potatoes occasionally while frying.
  17. 17. Add the chopped onions and the prepared cabbage strips to the pan.
  18. 18. Toss the pan briefly to mix everything together.
  19. 19. Cook the mixture for another 3 to 4 minutes.
  20. 20. Season the dish with salt, pepper, and cumin.
  21. 21. Finely chop fresh parsley.
  22. 22. Sprinkle the finished dish with the parsley.
  23. 23. Serve the potatoes hot.
