🍽️ Crispy Potatoes with Braised Cabbage

Ingredients
- 500 g White cabbage
- Salt
- 2 Onions
- 600 g waxy potatoes
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp Freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
- 1. Wash the cabbage thoroughly.
- 2. Remove the hard core from the center.
- 3. Cut the leafy vegetable into thin strips.
- 4. Bring water to a boil and add some salt.
- 5. Cook the cabbage strips for 4 to 5 minutes in the boiling water (this is called blanching).
- 6. Drain the water.
- 7. Rinse the cabbage immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 8. Let the cabbage drain well.
- 9. Peel the onion and remove the outer layers.
- 10. Finely chop the onion.
- 11. Peel the potatoes.
- 12. Wash the peeled potatoes.
- 13. Slice the potatoes into thin slices or grate them finely.
- 14. Heat the oil in a large pan.
- 15. Fry the potatoes in the pan for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
- 16. Turn the potatoes occasionally while frying.
- 17. Add the chopped onions and the prepared cabbage strips to the pan.
- 18. Toss the pan briefly to mix everything together.
- 19. Cook the mixture for another 3 to 4 minutes.
- 20. Season the dish with salt, pepper, and cumin.
- 21. Finely chop fresh parsley.
- 22. Sprinkle the finished dish with the parsley.
- 23. Serve the potatoes hot.
