Ingredients
- 20 large shrimp (kitchen-ready, deveined and peeled except for tail segment)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 piece fresh ginger
- 1 untreated lemon
- 1 red chili pepper
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Peel the garlic cloves and slice them thinly.
- 3. Wash the ginger and cut off 1 to 2 thin slices.
- 4. Peel or cut off a small piece of the lemon zest.
- 5. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half.
- 6. Wash the chili pepper and slice off a few rings.
- 7. Pour 3 to 4 tablespoons of oil into a pot.
- 8. Add the garlic, ginger slices, lemon zest, and chili rings to the oil.
- 9. Let the flavors infuse in the hot oil for a short time.
- 10. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 11. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice and let the mixture steep.
- 12. Pour the remaining oil into a hot frying pan.
- 13. Fry the shrimp over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
- 14. Turn the shrimp once to ensure even cooking.
- 15. Season the shrimp with salt.
- 16. Warm a plate or platter.
- 17. Arrange the shrimp on the warmed dish.
- 18. Drizzle the garlic lemon oil over the shrimp.
- 19. Serve the shrimp immediately.
- 20. Serve fresh baguette on the side as desired.
