  2. 2. Toast the almonds in a pan without oil until golden brown.
  3. 3. Carefully pit the dates.
  4. 4. Insert one toasted almond into each date.
  5. 5. Wrap each stuffed date with one half of a bacon slice.
  6. 6. Secure the package with a toothpick so the bacon does not unravel.
  7. 7. Peel the garlic cloves and cut them in half.
  8. 8. Heat oil in a pan and fry the bacon-wrapped dates in it.
  9. 9. Remove the garlic from the pan to prevent it from burning.
  10. 10. Fry the dates until they are crispy and golden brown all over.
  11. 11. Season the finished dates with freshly ground pepper.
  12. 12. Arrange the dates on a serving plate.
