🍽️ Roasted Apples with Poultry Liver, Walnuts, and Cranberries

Ingredients
- 2 large Apples
- 150 g Chicken liver
- 1 tbsp Walnut kernels
- 1 Shallot
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp fresh chopped Marjoram
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tbsp Breadcrumbs
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- Olive oil (for the dish)
- Cranberries (jar)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Lightly grease a baking dish with oil.
- 3. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 4. Cut the apples in half through the center.
- 5. Remove the core from the apple halves.
- 6. Wash the poultry liver.
- 7. Pat the liver dry with a kitchen towel.
- 8. Finely chop the liver.
- 9. Chop the walnuts coarsely.
- 10. Peel the shallot.
- 11. Finely chop the shallot.
- 12. Heat oil in a frying pan.
- 13. Sauté the shallot in the hot oil until translucent.
- 14. Add the marjoram to the shallot.
- 15. Add the egg yolk to the mixture.
- 16. Add the breadcrumbs to the mixture.
- 17. Mix the shallot mixture with the chopped liver.
- 18. Season the liver mixture with salt.
- 19. Season the liver mixture with pepper.
- 20. Fill the liver mixture into the apple halves.
- 21. Place the stuffed apples into the prepared baking dish.
- 22. Bake the apples in the oven for about 25 minutes.
- 23. Check if the apples are baked golden brown.
- 24. Garnish the finished apples with cranberries as desired.
- 25. Serve the apples warm.
