🍽️ Crispy Turkey and Cheese Toast

Ingredients
- 1 slice farmer's bread (large)
- 4 thin slices turkey breast deli meat (smoked, poultry sausage)
- 1 small red onion
- 2 tsp small capers
- 100 g Gouda (1 thick slice)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the slice of bread in half so that you get two pieces.
- 2. Place the bread halves in a hot oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius.
- 3. Toast the bread in the oven until it is golden brown and crispy.
- 4. Cut the cheese into small, even cubes.
- 5. Peel the onion and cut it in half lengthwise.
- 6. Cut the onion halves into thin wedges lengthwise as well.
- 7. Take the toasted bread out of the oven.
- 8. Distribute the sliced turkey evenly over the bread halves.
- 9. Place the cut onions and cheese cubes on top of the meat.
- 10. Place the topped bread slices back into the preheated oven at 220 degrees Celsius.
- 11. Bake the bread for a few minutes until the cheese melts and starts to get light brown spots.
- 12. Take the finished bread out of the oven.
- 13. Sprinkle the capers evenly over the hot bread.
- 14. Serve the dish immediately while it is still warm.
