🍽️ Crispy Oven Tofu

Ingredients
- 400 g firm tofu
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds (à 10 g)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (à 15 g)
- 1 tsp nutritional yeast
- 0.25 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp onion powder
- 0.25 tsp dried thyme
- 0.25 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- 1. Cut the tofu into strips that are finger-width and about 1.25 cm thick. Place the pieces in a bowl that can be sealed tightly.
- 2. Add hemp seeds, cornstarch, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs to the bowl. Seal it and shake gently until all tofu pieces are evenly coated with the mixture.
- 3. Now add the oil. Seal the bowl again and shake it vigorously until every tofu piece is coated with oil all around.
- 4. Place the tofu pieces side by side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake them in a preheated oven at 220 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 200 degrees Celsius fan-forced, or gas mark 3–4) for 10 minutes. Then turn the pieces and bake for another 10 minutes. Let the tofu cool down briefly before serving.
