  1. 1. Rinse the tomatoes under running water.
  2. 2. Slice off the top part of each tomato flat.
  3. 3. Set aside the cut-off pieces to use as lids later.
  4. 4. Remove the flesh and seeds from the inside of the tomatoes.
  5. 5. Make sure the tomato shells remain intact.
  6. 6. Drain any excess liquid from the hollowed tomatoes.
  7. 7. Lightly grease a baking dish with oil.
  8. 8. Place the empty tomatoes into the prepared dish.
  9. 9. Turn on the oven.
  10. 10. Set the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius.
  11. 11. Select the heating setting for top and bottom heat.
  12. 12. Wash the spring onions under cold water.
  13. 13. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
  14. 14. Peel the skin off the garlic.
  15. 15. Chop the garlic into very thin slices.
  16. 16. Heat some oil in a pan.
  17. 17. Add the spring onion rings to the hot pan.
  18. 18. Add the garlic slices to the pan.
  19. 19. Fry the vegetables for two minutes.
  20. 20. Remove the pan from the heat as soon as it smells fragrant.
  21. 21. Cut the tofu into small cubes.
  22. 22. Mix the tofu with the fried vegetables.
  23. 23. Add thyme to the tofu mixture.
  24. 24. Add grated cheese to the tofu mixture.
  25. 25. Season the filling with chili salt.
  26. 26. Fill the tomatoes with the tofu mixture.
  27. 27. Place the tomato lids on top of the filled tomatoes.
  28. 28. Place the baking dish into the preheated oven.
  29. 29. Bake the tomatoes for 20 minutes.
