🍝 Crispy Noodle Square Casserole with Bacon

Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- flour (for rolling out)
- 3 eggs
- salt
- pepper
- 200 g bacon (diced)
- 1 onion
- butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 200 g whipping cream
- nutmeg
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1 tsp caraway
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour onto a clean work surface.
- 2. Create a well in the center of the flour mound.
- 3. Crack the eggs directly into this well.
- 4. Add a pinch of salt to the eggs.
- 5. Quickly process the ingredients into a smooth dough.
- 6. Knead the dough vigorously for about 15 minutes.
- 7. Wait until the dough shines with a silky sheen.
- 8. Wrap the dough in cling film.
- 9. Let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes.
- 10. Sprinkle some flour onto a work surface.
- 11. Roll out the dough thinly.
- 12. Let the rolled-out dough dry for 10 minutes.
- 13. Peel the onions.
- 14. Finely chop the onions.
- 15. Heat some butter in a pan.
- 16. Fry the bacon until crispy.
- 17. Add the chopped onions to the pan.
- 18. Sauté the onions until translucent.
- 19. Let the bacon and onion mixture cool down.
- 20. Cut the dough into squares.
- 21. Bring water to a boil with some salt and oil.
- 22. Cook the noodle squares for 6 minutes until al dente.
- 23. Drain the noodles using a sieve.
- 24. Let the noodles drain well.
- 25. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 26. Mix the noodle squares with the ham.
- 27. Add the cooled onion cubes.
- 28. Season the mixture generously with salt.
- 29. Add pepper for seasoning.
- 30. Grate some nutmeg into the mix.
- 31. Place everything into a baking dish.
- 32. Pour sour cream over the mixture.
- 33. Top the casserole with butter flakes.
- 34. Bake the casserole in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- 35. Sprinkle some cumin over the finished casserole.
- 36. Garnish the dish with parsley.
- 37. Serve the casserole hot.
