🍽️ Baked Mackerel Fillets in Foil

Ingredients
- 1600 g mackerel (kitchen-ready, 4 mackerels)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 0.5 red chili pepper
- 100 g soft butter
- 2 tbsp chopped mixed herbs (e.g. parsley, chervil, dill,... )
- 1 lemon (juice)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the mackerel thoroughly.
- 2. Pat the fish dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Fillet the mackerel or have the fishmonger do this.
- 4. Season the fillets with salt and pepper.
- 5. Divide four large pieces of aluminum foil.
- 6. Place one mackerel fillet on each piece of foil.
- 7. Finely chop the garlic and the chili pepper.
- 8. Mix the chopped vegetables with butter, herbs, and lemon juice.
- 9. Spread the herb butter evenly over the fillets.
- 10. Cover each fillet with another fillet.
- 11. Fold the edges of the aluminum foil over the fish.
- 12. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (top and bottom heat).
- 13. Bake the foil packets in the oven for about 25 minutes.
