🍽️ Oven Beans with Orange-Chili Sauce

Ingredients
- 480 g cooked white beans (can; drained weight)
- 2 onions
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 orange
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 dried chili pepper
- 150 ml ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard powder
Instructions
- 1. Place the beans in a colander.
- 2. Rinse them under cold water.
- 3. Let the water drain off well.
- 4. Peel the onions.
- 5. Cut the onions into small cubes.
- 6. Heat the oil in a pan.
- 7. Fry the onion cubes over medium heat for about 1 minute.
- 8. Squeeze the orange.
- 9. Add the orange juice to the pan.
- 10. Add the maple syrup to the pan.
- 11. Add the chili pepper to the pan.
- 12. Add the ketchup to the pan.
- 13. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 14. Stir in the mustard powder.
- 15. Add the beans to the pan.
- 16. Mix everything well.
- 17. Take the beans along with the liquid from the pan.
- 18. Place the mixture in a sealable, ovenproof dish or pot.
- 19. Preheat the oven.
- 20. Set the oven temperature to 150 °C.
- 21. If your oven has a fan setting, set it to 130 °C.
- 22. If you are using gas, set the level to 1 to 2.
- 23. Cover the dish or pot.
- 24. Bake the beans for about 1 hour.
- 25. Serve the beans hot.
