🍰 Polish-style Fritters

Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 tbsp whipping cream
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp rum
- flour (for working)
- clarified butter (for frying)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Add the egg yolks, cream, baking powder, salt, and rum to the bowl.
- 3. Knead the ingredients into a firm and pliable dough.
- 4. Dust a work surface with flour.
- 5. Roll out the dough thinly on the floured surface.
- 6. Cut the dough into strips of about 3 by 12 centimeters using a pastry wheel.
- 7. Cut a slit lengthwise down the center of each strip.
- 8. Pull one end of the strip through the slit to form a loop.
- 9. Heat the lard in a pan to about 170 degrees Celsius.
- 10. Fry the dough loops in batches in the hot fat.
- 11. Cook them for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
- 12. Let the finished rolls drain on kitchen paper.
- 13. Dust them with powdered sugar and serve.
