🍽️ Crispy Sweet Potato Sticks

Ingredients
- 800 g sweet potatoes
- frying oil
- salt
- pepper (white)
- ketchup (for serving)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the sweet potatoes.
- 2. Cut them into long, thin sticks.
- 3. Bring plenty of water with salt to a boil.
- 4. Cook the sweet potato sticks in it for 2 to 3 minutes (this is called blanching).
- 5. Drain the water.
- 6. Rinse the sticks with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 7. Dry the sweet potatoes well.
- 8. Heat the frying oil in the deep fryer or a large pot.
- 9. Check the heat by holding a wooden stick in the oil: Bubbles should rise.
- 10. Fry the sweet potatoes in batches for about 4 minutes until golden yellow.
- 11. Place the finished sticks on kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
- 12. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.
- 13. Serve the sticks in small baskets lined with a napkin.
- 14. Serve them with ketchup on the side if you like.
