🍽️ Crispy Fried Pumpkin Balls

Ingredients
- 200 g pumpkin flesh (peeled, seeds removed)
- 400 g flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 eggs
- 170 g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- 1 kg fat (or ghee for deep frying)

Instructions
- 1. Finely grate the pumpkin.
- 2. Add 100 milliliters of water and bring the mixture to a boil.
- 3. Let the pumpkin cook until soft for about 10 minutes.
- 4. Allow the mixture to cool down.
- 5. Drain the water through a fine sieve.
- 6. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a mixing bowl.
- 7. Add the grated pumpkin and the eggs.
- 8. Mix the ingredients until you have a crumbly dough.
- 9. Sift powdered sugar over the mixture.
- 10. Add the oil and the lemon zest.
- 11. Mix everything for 3 to 4 minutes until you have a thick dough.
- 12. Heat the frying oil in a large pot.
- 13. Check the temperature by holding a wooden stick in the oil.
- 14. The oil is ready when small bubbles rise from the wood.
- 15. Scoop small balls of dough using a tablespoon.
- 16. Fry the balls in the oil until golden brown over medium heat.
- 17. Turn the balls once while frying.
- 18. Let the finished balls drain on kitchen paper.
- 19. Finally, dust the balls with powdered sugar.
