  1. 1. Thoroughly wash half of an apple under running water.
  2. 2. Cut the washed apple into four equal quarters.
  3. 3. Remove the core from each apple quarter.
  4. 4. Take one of the apple quarters and chop it roughly with a knife.
  5. 5. Place the roughly chopped apple piece into a small bowl.
  6. 6. Puree the apple piece in the bowl using a hand blender until smooth.
  7. 7. Add the hazelnuts to the bowl with the apple puree.
  8. 8. Stir the jam into the apple puree mixture.
  9. 9. Mix the cinnamon into the entire puree mixture until evenly seasoned.
  10. 10. Toast the whole wheat toast slices in a toaster or pan until golden brown.
  11. 11. Spread the quark evenly over the warm toast slices.
  12. 12. Spoon the spiced apple puree onto the quark and spread it evenly.
  13. 13. Take the second apple quarter and slice it into paper-thin slices.
  14. 14. Top the toast with the thin apple slices.
