🍽️ Small meatballs with tomato and mozzarella topping

Ingredients
- 700 g minced beef
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1 roll (from the previous day)
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
- salt
- pepper
- 2 plum tomatoes
- 125 g mozzarella
- 1 bunch basil
- ghee (for the mold)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 2. Soak the bread roll in lukewarm water.
- 3. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 4. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
- 5. Sauté the vegetables in the butter.
- 6. Squeeze the soaked bread roll well.
- 7. Mix the minced meat with the egg.
- 8. Add the squeezed bread roll.
- 9. Add the sautéed onion mixture.
- 10. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- 11. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
- 12. Finely chop half of the basil.
- 13. Set aside the remaining half for later.
- 14. Stir the chopped basil into the meat mixture.
- 15. Knead everything well.
- 16. Form small balls from the meat dough.
- 17. Roll the balls in the breadcrumbs.
- 18. Fry the balls in batches in hot olive oil.
- 19. Fry them over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side.
- 20. Remove the finished balls from the pan.
- 21. Slice the mozzarella.
- 22. Wash the tomatoes.
- 23. Slice the tomatoes as well.
