  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2. Soak the bread roll in lukewarm water.
  3. 3. Peel the onion and the garlic.
  4. 4. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  5. 5. Sauté the vegetables in the butter.
  6. 6. Squeeze the soaked bread roll well.
  7. 7. Mix the minced meat with the egg.
  8. 8. Add the squeezed bread roll.
  9. 9. Add the sautéed onion mixture.
  10. 10. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  11. 11. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
  12. 12. Finely chop half of the basil.
  13. 13. Set aside the remaining half for later.
  14. 14. Stir the chopped basil into the meat mixture.
  15. 15. Knead everything well.
  16. 16. Form small balls from the meat dough.
  17. 17. Roll the balls in the breadcrumbs.
  18. 18. Fry the balls in batches in hot olive oil.
  19. 19. Fry them over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side.
  20. 20. Remove the finished balls from the pan.
  21. 21. Slice the mozzarella.
  22. 22. Wash the tomatoes.
  23. 23. Slice the tomatoes as well.
