🍽️ Crispy Spelt Meatballs

Ingredients
- 2 spelt rolls (stale)
- 0.5 bunch parsley
- 70 g onions (1 onion)
- 80 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp mustard (hot)
- 800 g ground beef
- salt
- pepper
- 1 tsp marjoram (dried)
Instructions
- 1. Slice the spelt rolls into thick pieces.
- 2. Place the bread slices in a bowl with lukewarm water and let them soak briefly.
- 3. Rinse the parsley under running water.
- 4. Shake the parsley dry.
- 5. Finely chop the parsley.
- 6. Peel the onion.
- 7. Dice the onion finely.
- 8. Heat one tablespoon of butter in a frying pan.
- 9. Fry the onion cubes for one to two minutes until translucent.
- 10. Remove the pan from the heat and let the onions cool down briefly.
- 11. Squeeze the soaked bread well with your hands to remove excess liquid.
- 12. Add the squeezed bread, cooled onions, eggs, mustard, and chopped parsley to a large bowl.
- 13. Add the minced meat to the bowl.
- 14. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 15. Add one teaspoon of marjoram.
- 16. Knead all ingredients well with your hands until a homogeneous mass forms.
- 17. Shape ten equal-sized meatballs from the meat mixture.
- 18. Heat the remaining butter in the same pan.
- 19. Place four meatballs at a time into the hot pan.
- 20. Fry the meatballs for four to five minutes on one side over medium heat.
- 21. Turn the meatballs over.
- 22. Fry the second side for another four to five minutes until golden brown.
- 23. Remove the cooked meatballs from the pan.
- 24. Repeat the frying process with the remaining meatballs until all are done.
