  1. 1. Peel the shallots and slice them into thin rings.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the shallots over medium heat until translucent.
  3. 3. Deglaze the onions with red wine.
  4. 4. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until almost all the liquid has evaporated.
  5. 5. Soak the bread roll in a little water.
  6. 6. Squeeze the soaked bread roll well to remove excess water.
  7. 7. Add the minced meat, the bread roll, the egg, paprika powder, mustard, and herbs to a bowl.
  8. 8. Knead the ingredients into a uniform dough.
  9. 9. Season the mixture generously with salt and pepper.
  10. 10. Shape 8 meatballs of equal size from the mixture.
  11. 11. Fry the meatballs in hot oil for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  12. 12. Place the cooked meatballs on the plates.
  13. 13. Crumble the blue cheese over the meatballs.
  14. 14. Add the caramelized onions on top of the meatballs.
  15. 15. Serve the dish with mashed potatoes as desired.
