🍽️ Juicy Meatballs in Spicy Pepper Sauce

Ingredients
- 300 g onions
- 1 shallot
- bell peppers (2 each red, yellow, and green)
- 5 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 800 ml vegetable broth
- 2 tsp paprika powder (sweet)
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 400 g mixed minced meat
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and cut it into thin strips.
- 2. Cut the pepper into quarters and remove the seeds.
- 3. Wash the pepper pieces and cut them into approx. 1.5 cm cubes.
- 4. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pot.
- 5. Fry the onion strips in the hot oil.
- 6. Add the pepper cubes and fry them for a few minutes.
- 7. Sprinkle the vegetables with paprika powder.
- 8. Pour in the broth.
- 9. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- 10. Peel the shallot and cut it into fine cubes.
- 11. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- 12. Sweat the shallots until translucent (soft and see-through).
- 13. Mix the minced meat, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, and shallots.
- 14. With slightly damp hands, shape small balls the size of a ping pong ball.
- 15. Fry the balls in the remaining oil until browned all over.
- 16. Add the meatballs to the pot with the pepper and onion mixture.
- 17. Season everything to taste with salt and pepper.
- 18. Plate the meatballs.
- 19. Garnish with parsley.
- 20. Serve the dish immediately.
