  6. 6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  7. 7. Check the oil temperature by holding the end of a wooden spoon into the oil.
  8. 8. The oil is ready when small bubbles form around the wood.
  9. 9. Fry the fish portions in batches in the hot oil.
  10. 10. Cook the fish for about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  11. 11. Remove the fish from the pan when it is golden brown and crispy.
