Ingredients
- 2 Tilapia (Cichlids approx. 300 g, kitchen-ready)
- Lemons (juice)
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the fish under cold water.
- 2. Pat the fish completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Make three shallow cuts on each side of the fish fillet down to the bones.
- 4. Drizzle lemon juice evenly over the fish.
- 5. Season the fish with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- 7. Check the oil temperature by holding the end of a wooden spoon into the oil.
- 8. The oil is ready when small bubbles form around the wood.
- 9. Fry the fish portions in batches in the hot oil.
- 10. Cook the fish for about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- 11. Remove the fish from the pan when it is golden brown and crispy.
