🍽️ Grilled Trout in Grape Leaves

Ingredients
- 12 marinated grape leaves (jar)
- 4 trout (each 250–300 g)
- 3 unwaxed lemons
- 8 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 handfuls thyme
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the grape leaves under running water.
- 2. Place the grape leaves in hot water for about 15 minutes to reduce the strong salty taste.
- 3. Wash the trout and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Wash two lemons in hot water and slice them thinly.
- 5. Squeeze the juice from the remaining lemons.
- 6. Mix the lemon juice with four to five tablespoons of oil.
- 7. Season the oil-lemon mixture with salt and pepper.
- 8. Brush the trout inside and out with the marinade.
- 9. Rinse the thyme.
- 10. Set aside a little thyme for garnishing.
- 11. Fill the fish cavities with the remaining thyme and two to three lemon slices each.
- 12. Let the grape leaves drain well.
- 13. Wrap each trout in two to three grape leaves.
- 14. Grill the wrapped trout.
- 15. Serve the finished trout with the remaining lemon slices and thyme.
