  6. 6. Whisk the sour cream with the eggs in a bowl.
  7. 7. Season the mixture generously with salt and pepper.
  8. 8. Layer the potato slices and the egg cream alternately in the baking dish.
  9. 9. Finish the layers with a top layer of egg cream.
  10. 10. Bake the gratin for about 15 minutes until the cream has set.
  11. 11. Chop the chives into fine rings.
  12. 12. Carefully turn the finished gratin out of the dish.
  13. 13. Sprinkle it with the chives and fresh pepper.
  14. 14. Serve the dish immediately.
