  2. 2. Halve the figs and cut them into thin strips.
  3. 3. Place the fig strips, cloves, and red wine into a pot.
  4. 4. Add the sugar and stir it in well.
  5. 5. Let the mixture steep for two hours.
  6. 6. Slowly bring the mixture to a boil.
  7. 7. Let it boil vigorously for four minutes.
  8. 8. Perform a gel test to check the consistency.
  9. 9. Fill the hot jam to the brim into the prepared jars.
  10. 10. Seal the jars tightly.
  11. 11. Place the jars upside down on a clean kitchen towel immediately.
  12. 12. Let them stand like this for five minutes.
  13. 13. Turn the jars back over.
  14. 14. Let the fig jam with red wine cool down completely.
