  1. 1. Wash the fig and cut it into quarters. Set aside one small piece. Use a spoon to scoop out the remaining flesh from the skin. Wash the plum thoroughly, cut it in half, remove the pit, and cut the flesh into bite-sized pieces.
  2. 2. Place the scooped fig flesh, the plum pieces, and the buttermilk into a blender. Puree the mixture until smooth. Season the drink to taste with lemon juice. Garnish the glass with the reserved fig piece and a small wedge of lemon. Serve the drink well chilled.
