🍽️ Exotic Banana Fondue with Shrimp and Pineapple

Ingredients
- 3 plantain bananas
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp butter
- ground pimento (cayenne pepper)
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 stalk leek
- 0.5 fresh pineapple
- 200 g shrimp
- 1.5 l vegetable oil
Instructions
- 1. Peel the bananas.
- 2. Drizzle the bananas with lime juice.
- 3. Fry the bananas in the hot butter for 10 minutes until golden brown.
- 4. Turn the bananas occasionally.
- 5. Season the bananas with allspice, pepper, and paprika powder.
- 6. Wash the leek.
- 7. Trim the tough ends from the leek.
- 8. Cut the leek in half lengthwise.
- 9. Separate the individual leek leaves.
- 10. Blanch the leek leaves for 2 minutes in boiling salted water.
- 11. Remove the leek leaves from the water.
- 12. Let the leek leaves drain.
- 13. Wrap 2 to 3 leek leaves around a banana.
- 14. Secure the wrapped banana with a wooden skewer.
- 15. Cut the pineapple flesh into bite-sized pieces.
- 16. Heat the oil in a pot.
- 17. Place the pot on a rechaud.
- 18. Skewer the bananas onto fondue forks.
- 19. Skewer the shrimp onto fondue forks.
- 20. Skewer the pineapple pieces onto fondue forks.
- 21. Fry the food on the forks until crispy.
