  3. 3. Drain the lychees and cut them in half.
  4. 4. Bring water and sugar to a boil in a pot.
  5. 5. Simmer the mixture over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes until it becomes syrupy.
  6. 6. Stir the lemon juice into the warm syrup.
  7. 7. Place the melon balls and lychees in a bowl.
  8. 8. Pour the syrup over the fruit.
  9. 9. Let the salad sit for half an hour.
  10. 10. Stir the fruit occasionally during this time.
  11. 11. Serve the salad cold.
