  1. 1. Remove the green stems from the strawberries.
  2. 2. Wash the berries under running water.
  3. 3. Pat the strawberries dry with a kitchen towel.
  4. 4. Cut the berries into coarse cubes.
  5. 5. Take half of the strawberry cubes and put them into a pot.
  6. 6. Blend the berries in the pot briefly with a hand blender.
  7. 7. Stir the lemon juice into the pureed mixture.
  8. 8. Stir in the cherry juice.
  9. 9. Add the sugar.
  10. 10. Bring the mixture to a boil on the stove.
  11. 11. Take two tablespoons of cold water into a small bowl.
  12. 12. Mix the cornstarch (a starch for thickening foods) smoothly with the cold water.
  13. 13. Add the starch-water mixture immediately to the boiling strawberry porridge in the pot.
  14. 14. Bring the mixture to a boil again briefly while stirring constantly.
  15. 15. Keep stirring until the porridge thickens.
  16. 16. Gently fold in the remaining fresh strawberry cubes.
  17. 17. Remove the pot from the heat.
  18. 18. Place the porridge in a cool place for three hours.
  19. 19. Whip the cream with the vanilla sugar until stiff just before serving.
  20. 20. Distribute the cooled strawberry porridge onto plates.
  21. 21. Add a dollop of whipped cream to each plate.
