🍳 Fresh Strawberry and Orange Jam

Ingredients
- 1000 g strawberries
- 600 g large oranges (3 large oranges)
- 500 g jam sugar 3:1 (from raw cane sugar)
- 50 ml orange liqueur (or grenadine)
Instructions
- 1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- 2. Place the jars and lids in the boiling water for about 10 minutes to sterilize them.
- 3. Carefully remove the jars from the water.
- 4. Place the jars upside down on clean kitchen towels to let them cool.
- 5. Wash the strawberries thoroughly.
- 6. Remove the green stems and leaves from the strawberries.
- 7. Place the prepared strawberries in a bowl.
- 8. Mash the strawberries thoroughly with a fork or a potato masher.
- 9. Peel the oranges thickly.
- 10. Make sure to remove all the white bitter pith as well.
- 11. Carefully separate the orange flesh from the inner membranes.
- 12. Add the mashed strawberries and orange flesh to a cooking pot.
- 13. Add the pectin sugar.
- 14. Stir the mixture well until the sugar has dissolved.
- 15. Place the pot on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
- 16. Let the jam bubble and cook over medium heat.
- 17. Cook the jam for exactly 4 minutes while continuing to stir.
- 18. Stir the orange liqueur or grenadine into the boiling jam.
- 19. Let the mixture cook for another 30 seconds.
- 20. Fill the hot jam immediately into the prepared jars.
- 21. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
- 22. Place the sealed jars upside down for 5 minutes.
- 23. Then place the jars upright.
- 24. Store the jam sealed and in the dark; it will keep for about 6 months.
