  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the strawberries under running water.
  2. 2. Remove the green stems and leaves from the strawberries.
  3. 3. Cut the prepared strawberries into small pieces.
  4. 4. Peel the kiwis completely, removing all the skin.
  5. 5. Cut the peeled kiwis into small pieces as well.
  6. 6. Place the cut strawberries and kiwis into a large pot.
  7. 7. Pour the lemon juice over the fruit in the pot.
  8. 8. Add the sugar to the fruits and juice.
  9. 9. Slit the vanilla pod lengthwise so it is open.
  10. 10. Add the slit vanilla pod to the pot.
  11. 11. Add a pinch of pepper to the mixture.
  12. 12. Heat the mixture on the stove until it begins to boil.
  13. 13. Let the jam simmer vigorously according to the package instructions.
  14. 14. Remove the pot from the heat once the cooking time is finished.
  15. 15. Remove the vanilla pod from the hot jam.
  16. 16. Fill the hot jam immediately into the prepared, clean jars.
  17. 17. Seal the jars airtight to preserve them.
