  2. 2. Wash the lettuce, shake off excess water, and remove tough stems.
  3. 3. Cut the lettuce into eight equal pieces.
  4. 4. Heat the butter in a large pot.
  5. 5. Sauté the onion rings until they are soft and translucent.
  6. 6. Add the cut lettuce to the pot.
  7. 7. Sauté the lettuce for 3 to 4 minutes until it wilts.
  8. 8. Add the frozen peas.
  9. 9. Heat the peas for about 5 minutes until they are thawed.
  10. 10. Pour 300 milliliters of water into the pot.
  11. 11. Puree the soup with a hand blender until smooth.
  12. 12. Season the soup with soy sauce and pepper to taste.
  13. 13. Add the mini cabanossi sausages to the soup.
  14. 14. Heat the soup again until the sausages are warm.
  15. 15. Pour the milk into a tall container.
  16. 16. Froth the milk with a milk frother.
  17. 17. Stir the frothed milk into the soup.
  18. 18. Serve the soup hot with whole grain bread.
