  7. 7. Pour in the broth.
  8. 8. Simmer the soup over low heat with the lid closed for about 10 minutes.
  9. 9. Puree the soup finely with a hand blender.
  10. 10. Optionally press the mixture through a sieve to make it even smoother.
  11. 11. Pour the cream into the soup.
  12. 12. Season to taste with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  13. 13. Rinse the basil under cold water.
  14. 14. Shake the basil dry.
  15. 15. Cut the basil into thin strips.
  16. 16. Cut the bread into small cubes.
  17. 17. Fry the bread cubes in the hot butter for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
