  1. 1. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
  2. 2. Scrape out the tiny seeds from the pod.
  3. 3. Heat the milk together with the vanilla seeds and the empty pod.
  4. 4. Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar in a separate bowl.
  5. 5. Remove the vanilla pod from the hot milk.
  6. 6. Slowly stir the hot milk into the egg-sugar mixture.
  7. 7. Place the bowl over a pot of hot water (bain-marie).
  8. 8. Whisk the mixture over the hot water until it becomes thick and creamy.
  9. 9. Let the cream cool down while stirring constantly.
  10. 10. Let the rum fruits drain slightly.
  11. 11. Chop the fruits finely.
  12. 12. Whip the cream until stiff.
  13. 13. Gently fold the chopped fruits into the cooled cream.
  14. 14. Pour the mixture into a metal container.
  15. 15. Let the mixture freeze in the ice cream maker for 3 hours.
  16. 16. Make small cuts in the peach skins.
  17. 17. Pour boiling water over the peaches.
  18. 18. Peel the skin off the peaches.
  19. 19. Cut the peaches into wedges.
  20. 20. Wash the blackberries.
  21. 21. Pat the blackberries dry.
  22. 22. Scoop the ice cream with an ice cream scoop.
  23. 23. Serve the ice cream with the peach wedges, blackberries, and waffles.
