🍽️ Sweet and Spicy Pickled Pearl Onions

Ingredients
- 500 g pearl onions
- 400 ml white wine vinegar
- 20 g sea salt
- 100 g brown sugar
- 2 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 tsp cloves
- 2 dried chili peppers
Instructions
- 1. Pour boiling water over the pearl onions.
- 2. Peel off the outer skin of the onions.
- 3. Place the peeled onions into boiling salted water.
- 4. Blanch the onions for 2 minutes (cook briefly in boiling water).
- 5. Remove the onions from the water and let them drain.
- 6. Add vinegar, salt, sugar, peppercorns, cloves, and chili peppers to a pot.
- 7. Bring the spice liquid to a boil.
- 8. Fill the warm pearl onions into a previously rinsed with hot water and sterilized jar.
- 9. Pour the hot vinegar broth over the onions until they are completely covered.
- 10. Seal the jar tightly.
- 11. Let the onions infuse for 2 weeks before consuming.
