  1. 1. Rinse the cherries under running water.
  2. 2. Carefully remove the pits, keeping the fruit as whole as possible.
  3. 3. Place 200 milliliters of water, the juice, the sugar, the vanilla sugar, the cloves, the allspice berries, and the orange peel into a large pot.
  4. 4. Bring the mixture to a boil on the stove.
  5. 5. Then let the syrup simmer gently over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  6. 6. Fill the prepared cherries into the jars that you have previously rinsed with hot water.
  7. 7. Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove the spices and peel.
  8. 8. Add the cherry liqueur to the strained syrup and stir it in.
  9. 9. Pour the liquid over the cherries in the jars.
  10. 10. Seal the jars tightly.
  11. 11. Let the jars cool down completely at room temperature.
