🍰 Spiced Pears in Jars

Ingredients
- 1 kg pears
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 lemon
- 250 ml white grape juice
- 250 ml apple juice
- 25 g raw cane sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
Instructions
- 1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place the jars and lids in the hot water for 10 minutes to sterilize them. Carefully remove the jars from the water. Place them upside down on clean kitchen towels to cool.
- 2. Wash the pears thoroughly. Peel them and remove the core with a knife. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
- 3. Halve the lemon and squeeze out the juice. Add the lemon juice, grape juice, apple juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, the vanilla pod, and 500 milliliters of water to a pot. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 4. Place the prepared pears into the boiling liquid.
- 5. Let the pears simmer on low heat for about 3 minutes.
- 6. Distribute the pears evenly among the prepared jars. Fill the jars with the hot liquid until the pears are completely covered.
- 7. Seal the jars tightly. Let the pickled pears cool down at room temperature.
