🍽️ Pickled Apricots with Whisky

Ingredients
- 500 g apricots
- 125 g sugar
- juice of one lemon
- 500 ml whisky
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 3 star anise
Instructions
- 1. Put the lemon juice and sugar into a pot.
- 2. Heat the mixture on the stove.
- 3. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- 4. Let the liquid simmer gently for about one minute.
- 5. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 6. Stir the whisky into the warm mixture.
- 7. Wash the apricots thoroughly.
- 8. Pour boiling water over the fruit.
- 9. Peel the skin off the apricots.
- 10. Cut the apricots in half.
- 11. Remove the stones from the fruit halves.
- 12. Cut the cinnamon sticks and star anise in half.
- 13. Place the apricot halves into a clean jar.
- 14. Distribute the spice pieces between the apricots in the jar.
- 15. Let the syrup cool down.
- 16. Pour the cooled syrup over the apricots.
- 17. Fill the jar with the syrup.
- 18. Seal the jar tightly.
- 19. Let the apricots infuse in the jar for about three weeks.
