🍰 Simple Sheet Pan Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 250 g soft butter
- 100 g whole cane sugar
- 6 eggs
- 350 g dark chocolate
- 80 g spelt whole wheat flour
- 250 g ground almonds
Instructions
- 1. Beat the butter with the sugar until the mixture is creamy and fluffy.
- 2. Stir in the eggs one by one and gradually into the butter-sugar mixture.
- 3. Finely chop 250 grams of chocolate.
- 4. Mix the chopped chocolate with the flour and ground almonds.
- 5. Stir the chocolate-flour mixture into the egg cream until everything is well combined.
- 6. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 7. Place the dough onto the prepared tray.
- 8. Smooth the dough evenly with a spoon or spatula.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (160 degrees Celsius for fan-assisted or gas mark 2-3).
- 10. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes in the preheated oven.
- 11. Remove the tray from the oven.
- 12. Cut the still hot cake into strips measuring 1.5 by 5 centimeters.
- 13. Allow the strips to cool down.
- 14. Carefully separate the cooled strips from the tray.
- 15. Place the strips on a wire cooling rack.
- 16. Melt the remaining chocolate slowly in a double boiler.
- 17. Brush the chocolate strips with the melted chocolate.
