  1. 1. Bring water, a pinch of salt, and the butter to a boil in a pot. Add the flour to the boiling liquid and stir over low heat with a wooden spoon until the dough pulls away from the bottom of the pot.
  2. 2. Remove the pot from the heat and stir the eggs into the dough one by one. Fill the dough into a piping bag. Heat the frying fat to 180°C.
  3. 3. Pipe rings of dough onto parchment paper using a large piping tip. Carefully place the rings into the hot fat with the paper. Remove the paper as soon as the rings release, and fry the cakes in batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. 4. Remove the cakes with a slotted spoon and immediately cover them with the glaze.
  5. 5. Mix the sifted powdered sugar thoroughly with rum and water. Let the mixture cool down.
