Ingredients
- 250 g beef fillet
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika powder (mild sweet)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- pepper
- 2 onions
- 200 g yellow bell peppers (1 yellow bell pepper)
- 125 g mushrooms
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt
- 2 elongated whole grain rolls
- 80 g Edamer (30 % fat in dry matter; 4 slices)
- herbs (to taste)
Instructions
- 1. Slice the beef fillet into very thin pieces. Mix the meat in a shallow bowl with oregano, paprika powder, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Cover the bowl and set it aside until you are ready for the vegetables.
- 2. Peel the onions and cut them into thin strips. Quarter the bell peppers, remove the seeds, wash them, and cut them into thin strips. Clean the mushrooms and slice them thinly.
- 3. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan. Sauté the onion and pepper strips in it over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
- 4. After 5 minutes, add the mushrooms. Season the vegetables with salt and pepper and cook them until soft for another 10 minutes.
- 5. Slice the buns horizontally. Toast them on the oven rack under the grill until they are light brown.
- 6. Distribute the sautéed pepper vegetables evenly over the toasted bun halves.
- 7. Heat the remaining oil in the same pan. Fry the meat in it, stirring constantly, for exactly 1 minute.
- 8. Divide the meat in the pan into two portions and top each portion with cheese.
- 9. Let the cheese melt. Then lift the meat out of the pan using a wide spatula and place it on the buns. Garnish with fresh herbs if you like.
