🍽️ Crunchy Spelt Spirals with Apples and Nuts

Ingredients
- 150 g light spelt flour
- 0.5 packet baking powder
- 100 g low-fat quark
- 25 g sugar
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp low-fat milk
- 15 g butter
- 2 tart apples
- 25 g walnut kernels
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- flour (for the work surface)

Instructions
- 1. Put the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Sift the flour directly into the bowl.
- 3. Add the baking powder, quark, sugar, and oil.
- 4. Process the ingredients into a dough using the dough hooks of your electric hand mixer.
- 5. Add milk gradually.
- 6. Stir until you have a smooth and homogeneous mass.
- 7. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
- 8. Knead the dough briefly.
- 9. Roll the dough into a rectangle.
- 10. Aim for dimensions of 40 by 30 centimeters.
- 11. Melt the butter.
- 12. Spread the melted butter evenly over the dough.
- 13. Peel the apples.
- 14. Grate the apples finely.
- 15. Distribute the grated apples over the dough.
- 16. Chop the nuts.
- 17. Sprinkle the nuts and cinnamon on top.
- 18. Roll the dough tightly into a roll starting from the long side.
- 19. Cut off slices with a sharp knife.
- 20. The slices should be about 1.5 centimeters thick.
- 21. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 22. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 23. Set the rack to the second position from the bottom.
- 24. Bake the spirals for about 15 minutes.
- 25. Use fan-assisted or conventional top and bottom heat.
- 26. Take them out when they are golden brown.
