  3. 3. Let the beans soak until their skins split open at the seam.

  5. 5. Finely chop the garlic.
  6. 6. Drain the soaking water from the beans.
  7. 7. Place the drained beans in a pot.
  8. 8. Add the chopped garlic to the pot.
  9. 9. Pour one liter of fresh water into the pot.
  10. 10. Bring the mixture to a boil on the stove.
  11. 11. Let the beans simmer on high heat for about 30 minutes.
  12. 12. Pour the cooked beans and garlic into a sieve.
  13. 13. Let the mixture drain well.
  14. 14. Heat the oil in a pan.
  15. 15. Add the spices to the hot pan.
  16. 16. Toast the spices briefly.
