🍽️ Hearty Mashed Potatoes with Crispy Bacon and Onions

Ingredients
- 800 g floury potatoes
- 150 g bacon
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 200 ml milk
- 2 tbsp crème fraîche
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped thyme
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and steam them for about 30 minutes until tender. Dice the bacon into small cubes. Peel the onion and dice it finely as well. Sauté the onions in hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes until soft.
- 2. Peel the cooked potatoes and press them through a potato ricer. Stir the potatoes with hot milk, the fat from the bacon, and the Creme Fraiche until smooth. Season with salt and serve the mashed potatoes topped with the bacon and onion cubes and fresh thyme.
