🍰 Hearty Potato and Salami Layer Cake

Ingredients
- 1.2 kg waxy potatoes
- salt
- 2 onions
- 50 g butter
- 2 sprigs parsley
- 100 g salami (sliced)
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with fan assistance (convection).
- 2. Peel the potatoes and slice them into paper-thin rounds.
- 3. Blanch the potato slices (briefly cook in boiling water) in salted water for 1 to 2 minutes.
- 4. Remove the potatoes from the water and let them drain well.
- 5. Peel the onions and slice them into rings.
- 6. Melt the butter.
- 7. Grease the baking dish with the melted butter so nothing sticks.
- 8. Wash the parsley and shake off excess water.
- 9. Pick the parsley leaves off the stems.
- 10. Place one-third of the potato slices into the prepared dish.
- 11. Brush the first layer of potatoes with a little butter.
- 12. Season the layer with salt and pepper.
- 13. Sprinkle half of the onion rings over the potatoes.
- 14. Sprinkle half of the parsley leaves over the onions.
- 15. Sprinkle half of the salami over the parsley.
- 16. Cover the layers with more potato slices.
- 17. Season this layer with salt and pepper as well.
- 18. Add the remaining onion rings, parsley leaves, and salami.
- 19. Cover everything with the remaining potato slices.
- 20. Brush the top layer with the remaining butter.
- 21. Season the top layer finally with salt and pepper.
- 22. Bake the casserole in the oven for about 60 to 70 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
