🍕 Thick Deep-Dish Pizza

Ingredients
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 450 g pizza dough (frozen and thawed or fresh)
- 200 g Italian sausage (or other raw bratwurst)
- 1 onion
- 0.5 green bell pepper
- 1 garlic clove
- 120 ml pizza sauce (can)
- 120 g grated mozzarella (or cubed)
- 50 g grated Parmesan
- 2 vine tomatoes
- basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the oven to 250 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Wipe the deep pizza baking tray with a little oil.
- 3. Sprinkle flour on the work surface.
- 4. Roll out the yeast dough on the floured surface.
- 5. Place the dough in the prepared pan.
- 6. Press up a small edge.
- 7. Prick the base several times with a fork.
- 8. Brush the base with olive oil.
- 9. Place the pan in the preheated oven.
- 10. Pre-bake the base for about 10 minutes.
- 11. Remove the sausage from the casing.
- 12. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
- 13. Fry the sausage meat in small balls briefly.
- 14. Peel the onion.
- 15. Halve the onion.
- 16. Cut the onion into strips.
- 17. Wash the bell pepper.
- 18. Remove the core of the bell pepper.
- 19. Cut the bell pepper into thin strips.
- 20. Peel the garlic.
- 21. Chop the garlic finely.
- 22. Add onions, peppers, and garlic to the meat.
- 23. Fry the mixture while stirring for a few minutes.
- 24. Fry until the sausage is golden brown.
- 25. Let the mixture drain on kitchen paper.
- 26. Remove the pre-baked base from the oven.
- 27. Spread the pizza sauce on the base.
- 28. Distribute the prepared topping on it.
- 29. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella over it.
- 30. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan over it.
- 31. Wash the tomatoes.
- 32. Cut out the stem area of the tomatoes.
- 33. Slice the tomatoes.
- 34. Place the tomato slices on the pizza.
- 35. Place the pizza back in the oven.
- 36. Finish baking the pizza for 15-20 minutes.
- 37. Bake until the pizza is golden brown.
- 38. Remove the pizza from the pan.
- 39. Garnish the pizza with basil.
- 40. Serve the pizza.
