Ingredients
- 8 slices Italian white bread (thickly sliced)
- 16 dried tomatoes (packed in oil)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 8 olives
- basil
- olive oil (cold-pressed)
Instructions
- 1. Place the tomatoes in a colander to let the excess water drain off.
- 2. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
- 3. Put the tomato cubes into a mixer and blend them into a smooth puree.
- 4. Season the tomato puree with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
- 5. Slice the white bread.
- 6. Toast the bread slices in the oven until golden brown.
- 7. Drizzle one tablespoon of olive oil onto each slice.
- 8. Spread the seasoned tomato puree evenly over the slices.
- 9. Garnish each slice with an olive.
- 10. Place a few fresh basil leaves on the slices.
- 11. Serve the crostini immediately while warm.
