  1. 1. Peel the ginger and slice it into paper-thin rounds.
  2. 2. Rinse the lemon under hot water and pat it dry. Peel the skin thinly and then squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  3. 3. Place about two-thirds of the lemon peel along with the ginger, cloves, cranberries, and 150 milliliters of water in a small pot. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and let the mixture simmer gently for about 8 minutes.
  4. 4. Strain the liquid through a sieve into a second pot. Stir in the lemon and cranberry juice and warm the punch briefly again. Pour the punch into a glass or mug and garnish with the remaining lemon peel.
