🍽️ Crispy Cornish Pasties

Ingredients
- 500 g beef mince
- 4 potatoes
- 2 onions
- 1 egg
- 0.5 bunch parsley (chopped)
- 100 ml beef broth
- salt
- 1 tsp horseradish
- 0.25 tsp mustard
- For the dough
- 350 g flour
- 120 g butter
- 0.5 tsp mustard powder
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- 1. Put flour, soft butter, and mustard powder into a bowl.
- 2. Knead the ingredients into a crumbly mixture.
- 3. Add water gradually until a smooth and firm dough forms.
- 4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap.
- 5. Place the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- 6. Peel the potatoes.
- 7. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
- 8. Peel the onions.
- 9. Cut the onions into cubes as well.
- 10. Add the onion cubes, parsley, and potato cubes to the minced meat.
- 11. Mix the filling well with your hands or a spoon.
- 12. Add the broth to the filling.
- 13. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 14. Add some mustard to the filling.
- 15. Add some horseradish to the filling.
- 16. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 3 mm.
- 17. Cut out circular dough pieces with a diameter of about 20 cm.
- 18. Distribute the meat-potato mixture onto the dough circles.
- 19. Whisk the egg in a small bowl.
- 20. Brush the edges of the dough circles with the whisked egg.
- 21. Pull up the sides of the dough circle to form a pocket.
- 22. Press the edges firmly together to seal them.
- 23. Brush the surface of the pasties with the remaining egg.
- 24. Place the pasties on a baking sheet.
