  1. 1. Roughly chop the chocolate. Take 100 grams of it and melt it over a hot water bath (place a bowl over a pot of hot water). Set the rest of the chocolate aside.
  2. 2. Beat the butter with the sugar, salt, and vanilla sugar until creamy. Stir in the eggs one by one, then mix in the melted chocolate.
  3. 3. Mix flour, oat flakes, baking powder, and the remaining chocolate pieces in a bowl. Add this mixture to the butter mixture and stir until you have a smooth dough. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  4. 4. Using an ice cream scoop, form about 30 small balls from the dough. Place them with some space between each other on two baking sheets lined with baking paper.
  5. 5. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius conventional heat (fan 160 degrees; gas mark 2 to 3) for about 15 minutes. Remove them and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
